President Igor Dodon, who is running as an independent presidential candidate, said a government reshuffle will take place after elections. Anyway, according to Dodon, Ion Chicu is to remain prime minister. Dodon said on October 28 on the air of Puterea a patra on N4. Dodon assured personnel changes will take place in the government after elections. “There for sure will be changes. I will not say who will it affect. Time will show but reshuffles will take place everywhere,” Dodon said, noting that reshuffle will affect representatives of both parties forming the government - the Socialist Party and the Democratic Party. However, according to Dodon, Ion Chicu will remain prime minister until early elections. According to Dodon, the Chicu government, unlike the Pavel Filip and Maia Sandu governments, copes well with many problems, especially when it comes to socio-economic issues. Dodon also noted that if he wins the elections, the Democratic Party will not receive one of the main positions in the state, since the party does not have enough mandates. “The coalition agreement remains in force. But PDM has no mandate to implement this agreement. We have secured mandates within this coalition. PSRM had 36 deputies, and now we have 37 mandates. Their number remained the same. PDM has 11 deputies. 51 votes are needed to elect a speaker or prime minister. Let them find 14 mandates and then we’ll discuss about,” Dodon said.
